when our folks weren’t living high in mayfair, they were getting down and dirty in shoreditch, london’s latest hipster center (their hotel was nearby). shoreditch has been a cool place to hang out since the hippest of all hipsters, william shakespeare, premiered some of his early plays there. romeo and juliet first kissed and died on stage in shoreditch. now it’s a hot neighborhood for funky shops, great bars and cafes and the kind of unstudied cool that only several hundred years of hard living can produce.
