Denise Cherry receives 2010 AAU Emerging Artist Award

Congratulations to our senior designer, Denise Cherry, who has been awarded the Academy of Art University’s 2010 Emerging Artist Award!  The award recognizes recent and distinguished accomplishments from AAU Alumni, and Denise truly deserves this award.  We at O+A are happy and proud to have her on our team!

From The Academy of Art University’s Alumni Board:
“Cherry is a senior designer and project leader at Studio O+A, one of San Francisco’s most dynamic interior design firms. She was the principal designer on the 160,000 square foot remodel of Facebook’s headquarters in Palo Alto—a project recently awarded IIDA’s Northern California chapter 2010 honor award for large workspaces. A focus of intense international media attention, the Facebook design was also a nominee for FRAME Magazine’s 2009 Great Indoors Award and for Archdaily’s 2009 Building of the Year. Cherry’s design development of the trendy W’s Salon in San Jose’s Santana Row shopping center received IIDA’s 2009 notable award for design of recreational spaces.

A LEED certified designer since 2008, Cherry’s clients at Studio O+A have included some of the Bay Area’s best known companies, among them: Levi Strauss, Williams-Sonoma, eBay, PayPal, Yelp and many others. Before joining Studio O+A, she was a contributing editor at Surface Magazine.

Cherry is a native of Orange County, California. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, the photographer Jasper Sanidad.
